Stephen L. Beaman– Jeremiah Beaman moved to the Greene County area before the Revolutionary War and served in the Continental Army. Beamans have farmed there ever since. Mr. Beaman was born in Greene County, North Carolina, in 1947. With degrees from East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina School of Law, Mr. Beaman has practiced law in Wilson, North Carolina, since 1974. His primary areas of practice include bankruptcy law, real estate, social services law, and business and corporate law. He has served as a bankruptcy trustee for the Eastern District of North Carolina for over 30 years, is certified by the North Carolina State Bar as a specialist in bankruptcy law, has represented the Wilson County Department of Social Services for over 25 years, and represents various companies and businesses in the area. Mr. Beaman was listed in the first edition of Naifeh and Smith’s The Best Lawyers in America in 1977 and has been listed in each edition since.
